On Monday, August 24, DOD responded to the FOIA request, not only denying the request for expedited response, but claiming "unusual circumstances" which would cause a delay beyond the legally mandated 20-day response time. Click on PDF for that response.
On Tuesday, August 25, WiSCI filed a lawsuit to demand that DOD adhere to the legally mandated 20-day response time.
WiSCI's FOIA is narrow and specific, asking for specific documents regarding the study of women in combat roles. It is reasonable to expect a quick response.
