On Monday, August 17, 2026, WiSCI and journalist Hope Hodge Seck, through attorney Mark S. Zaid, P.C., filed a FOIA request with the Department of Defense, seeking greater transparency into the Pentagon’s ongoing review of women serving in ground combat roles. On August 24, the Pentagon not only rejected the request for expedited response, but said they required more than the legally mandated 20 day time limit. WiSCI has now sued to require DOD to meet the legally-mandated 20 days. All docs at this link.
